Sunday, April 25th – 6:00pm – 8:00pm – FAMILY NIGHT

Please join us for Game Night & Movie Night.  So grab your family and friends, grab a snack, and a beverage to share and meet us in Fellowship Hall.  This is open to every one of any and all ages.

Friday, April 30th – 6:00pm – PIZZA YOUTH NIGHT

Please join Le Ann for some pizza.  We will meet in Fellowship Hall.  If you are able to come, please let Le Ann know, so I can know what kind  and how much pizza is needed.  Please bring yourself and a friend.

Saturday, May 1st – 12:00 – 1:30pm – ARTS MINISTRY

Open to all 4th thru 12th Grade Youth & their friends.  This group is making some really neat crafts and learning some really cool techniques.  So please come and find out what they are doing and make something for yourself or someone else.

CAMP – “TACT” – June 20-25, 2010 – (Camp Sunday is June 27, 2010)

WORK CAMP – Leaving July 9th and Returning on July 18th, 2010

Who Am I: I have one sister, a cat and a dog. Something many people do not know about me is that I collect nutcrackers and scent bottles. My favorite color depends on the mood I am in. I love to swim. I am not sure of what I want to do when I get out of school but some ideas I have are; open an animal shelter, be a teacher, or maybe open a coffee shop. My initials are B G.

The newly formed Art Ministry will be meeting Sat., April 10th from 12-1:30 p.m. in the Art Room in the hallway off of Fellowship Hall.

This is open to all youth 4th grade and up.

The Youth will be serving an Easter Brunch, Sun., April 4th from 9-10 in Fellowship Hall. A free-will offering will be taken for the youth to use towards the camp programs. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will provide supplemental funds. Donations of coffeecake, rolls and juice can be dropped off on Sat.

Come and meet with LeAnn Peterson, Alpine’s new Youth Coordinator, to share your ideas for the Youth of Alpine. All are welcome; high school age, middle school age, adults… We will be meeting Thurs., April 8th, 6:30 PM in Fellowship Hall.

Crossroads

I would like to introduce myself. I am LeAnn Peterson. I have been married to Eric for 13 years (This month). We have three wonderful children, Anna (almost 11 yrs old), Gunnar (9 yrs old), and Emmalee (7 yrs old). I was born and raised in Rockford. I have always attended Lutheran churches (Our saviors until I was in 6th Grade, First Lutheran until Jan 2006 & Alpine since March 2006. I worked full-time for three lung doctors & I am a certified professional coder (A fancy title for insurance clerk). So, along with working full-time, and raising a family, I will be enjoying working with the youth of this church. Even though I am busy I am always here for the youth and their families. I have always been a person who has believed in God. I don’t know of a day that I didn’t but I have had my times that my walk has gotten stronger and more personal with Christ.

I was a youth director for our old church for a time, I have taught Sunday school for a total of 26 years, done children sermon for a total of 20 years. I have helped and been in charge of vacation bible school for many years. I have just started my third year of church council here at Alpine (with a total of 9 years). I come with wanting youth to know how much they are loved and how special they are to Jesus and to us at Alpine.

Crossroads

As you can see the Title of the youth newsletter is called “crossroads”. This comes from Jeremiah 6:16…(This is what the Lord says: “Stand at the crossroads and look;…ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your soul.”)

When we come to crossroads in our life we need to ask which way is the right way (God’s way) and follow it and if we do, our soul will be at rest. If we go the path of the world (against God) we will not have rest in our lives, or our souls.

Join us for an Easter Egg Hunt on Sun., April 4th, immediately after 10:00 service has ended. Everyone is welcome to attend. Weather permitting the hunt will take place outside, down by the gym.

The youth will be serving breakfast on Sun., Mar. 21st in the gym. The menu will include pancakes, eggs, sausage and pastries. Please mark your calendar to attend. This will be a fundraiser for the camp programs.

Sun., Feb. 28th, the youth will be having a breakfast in the gymnasium between services. They will be serving a French toast casserole. This is a fundraiser for the camping programs. Please mark your calendar to attend.
